The Lightwings – Sleeping is Not For Dreamers

So the sun is out and it’s coming up to summer, you’ve realised there aren’t many albums on your iPod that really fit the happy, sunny vibe. Is there potential for The Lightwings to be on your summer playlist? If you’re a fan of upbeat British rock ‘n’ roll that’s reminiscent of Oasis and The Stone Roses, then yes, there is. The Lightwings have been bringing this 90s rock vibe back into their rehearsal room since 2010 and have bought out their 11-track debut album ‘Sleeping is Not For Dreamers’ so folks can start playing a genre that may not be new to their ears but it’s fresh for this year. With the likes of Bastille, Imagine Dragons and Night Beds captivating music lovers with their fluid indie vibe, it’s revitalising to hear a band pushing to bring back well-loved genres. They’re not attempting to become a part of the mainstream or trying to invent an obscure ‘new’ genre, lets face it, a ‘new’ genre has probably been done before anyway.
