2012 has been a busy year for Guillemots: with the ambitious declaration that they would release four albums this year, it’s been fair to say they’ve been pretty hard working. Asked how they are doing this weekend, Aristazabal responds with a slightly overly enthusiastic “Tired!”, before Fyfe explains that the band are “happy but very busy”. From a live performance perspective they have a fairly spaced out timetable for gigs, spending most of the time going backwards and forwards to the studio and on to festivals. The main highlight for the band was Pohoda in Slovakia, although Fyfe says “I didn’t think we played that well, I liked the last one; Hard Rock Calling. But you know, Festivals are always good fun”. With their ambitious release plans for the year it was inevitable that there would be a bit of delay getting going, although the band say “we’re still on target for it”.
