South London six-piece Fireworks Night are hard to pin down, showing a variety of competencies within the wider folk spectrum on new album “One Winter, One Spring”. Opening with a traditional acoustic style number “A Little Time in the Light” lead singer James Lesslie immediately introduces his strong Johnny Flynn-esque vocals as the focal point of the band’s output. The slow strum of the track acts almost as an introduction piece, lulling any first time listeners into a sense of familiarity who may initially think this style will run throughout the album.
